Dancing and Music
Jo from Salt Box Music visits us every other Tuesday. Salt Box Music provides a secure environment and stimulating activities all designed to encourage children’s social development such as confidence building, sharing, listening and of course musical skills. The most important thing is that children have fun with music and the learning follows.
Sally from Little Dancers visits us every other Thursday. This gives a chance for the children to explore a variety of dance styles and plenty of opportunity to express themselves! Each session offers dance based games and activities, and an introduction to dance forms from different cultures. It’s an opportunity not only to dance and interact with others but also to grow in confidence.
Arts and Crafts
There is a range of activities organised to encourage the children to use their creative sides from junk modelling and painting to woodwork and sculpting! Most activities follow our termly themes but the easels are always out for any spontaneous creativity … we provide aprons for some of the messier activities!
Cooking, Gardening and Country Walks
When they’re not tending the Playgroup garden, we try and make the most of our country setting by taking the children down the lane next to Playgroup to listen for signs of the seasons, pick blackberries or make a visit to the village playground. On rainier days we enjoy a spot of cooking or baking...yum!
We arrange nature walks, trips to the local park as well as an annual trip to places like Cotswold Wildlife Park, Blenheim Palace and Stratford Butterfly Farm. We also have visits from various professionals including the fire service, health workers and local musicians.
